Yield: about 5 dozen 2-inch
cookies
Ingredients:
1 cup light brown sugar, packed
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup corn oil, safflower oil or
other mild salad oil
2 eggs
2 Tbsp. milk
1 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
2 cups all purpose flour,
unsifted but spooned gently into
measuring cup
2 cups OLD FASHIONED oats
1 cup raisins
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Cream brown sugar, granulated
sugar, oil, and eggs. Add milk
to the creamed mixture. Add
spices and baking soda and mix
well. Blend in flour and oats.
Add raisins and, if desired,
nuts and blend well.
Grease cookie sheets. Drop by
heaping teaspoonsful on cookie
sheets. Bake 10-12 minutes at

sit on cookie sheet about 5
minutes before removing to
cooling rack. These cookies
remain soft and chewy and keep

be frozen.

electric mixer, dump all
ingredients in bowl and blend
well to save time. Then drop on
cookie sheet and bake as above. |
